A
staple of the Boston music scene since 1989, Jay Potts has long been one of
the most sought after drummers in the Northeast. His versatility, groovy feel,
solid playing and raw power have made him a valued contributor to numerous studio
sessions in several genres as well as the backbone of some of Boston’s
most successful local bands. He is the only musician in history to have won
back to back top honors at the WBCN Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble (Boston’s
most prestigious and competitive local music contest), first with goth/industial
heavyweight Big Catholic Guilt in 1992 and then with hard rock powerhouse Cobalt
60 (later renamed C60) in 1993. C60 went on to play over 300 shows for crowds
of up to 10,000 people and has shared the bill with such acts as Disturbed,
Fuel, Jet, KISS, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Staind
and Three Doors Down. Winner of 5 Boston Music Awards, Jay is nothing short
of a local music legend.
In the interest of broadening his musical and personal experience, Jay has
turned his focus westward and is currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Though this site is geared towards Jay's Rock side, he is proficient in all genres of music.
Including all flavors of rock, metal, pop, hip-hop, industrial and country. Jay can play to
click tracks both live and in studio and is available for both session work and live performance
